It is apartheid, says Israeli human rights organisation Yesh Din

A wide-ranging interview with human rights lawyer, Michael Sfard of Yesh Din and chief author its recent legal opinion that Israel’s 53-year occupation of the West Bank constitutes an “apartheid regime.”

But while focusing on the West Bank, Yesh Din Yesh Din emphasizes that this by no means excludes the argument that “the crime of apartheid is not committed only in the West Bank. That the Israeli regime in its entirety is an apartheid regime. That Israel is an apartheid state.”

We can be forgiven for asking if Michel Sfard were a member of the British Labour Party would be served with a Notice of Investigation for alleged antisemitism?

I felt it necessary to read this article several times to appreciate its contents. Michael Sfard,’s response to the question posed about whether or not to extend the use of the term “apartheid regime” beyond the West Bank is nuanced. I found the final paragraph of his response to the penultimate question most revealing. I will let you draw your own conclusions.
