The Jewish National Fund’s sordid history
JVL Introduction
Your web editor is one of many who put pennies in JNF collecting boxes in their youth. I’ve since learnt quite how calculatedly the money was used to dispossess Palestinians from their lands.
But it is still a shock to read Jonathan Cook’s overview of that sordid history – of how collecting money, we believed to liberate Jews, was turned into an instrument of Palestinian oppression.
Bizarrrely, its local incarnation JNF-UK, has charitable status. It is being challenged.

Another brilliant, succinct encapsulation by Jonathan Cook of the ‘state’/’State’ of Israel as a country mired in a historical and moral quagmire of exclusion and repression.
A telling examination of why the Labour Party should never have been associated with the IHRA mock ‘definition’ or the sectarian demands of the BoD that seek to divert from the facts of ethnic cleansing and apartheid.
Are there not plenty of blue and white Magen David collecting boxes in shops around North London? I used to live in Hampstead and my son went to college in Golders Green?
Thank you Jonathan Cook. A compelling read. When will the BOD and the British Establishment own up to the truth told in this article?
