Something is profoundly wrong in our [US} political system when a handful of billionaires spend millions of dollars to defeat progressive candidates, writes Jake Johnson.
They spent nearly $5 million to target and defeat Andy Levin, far more than was spent by any other group.
And the “they”? – the pro-Israel American Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac), campaigning against the sitting, progressive, Jewish Democratic Representative, Andy Levin.
Why? Levin’s support for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict is too radical for them!
Aipac is the same group that has endorsed and funded 109 Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 election on January 6th.

Isn’t the UK the same? Rich donors funding all parties…some more than others…as they say ‘he who pays the piper calls the tune’ That’s why I don’t think we are a democracy either..all ‘democracys’ end up being an oligarchy…quite depressing really.
You cannot criticise powerful pro-Israeli Media groups because that is a classic example of anti-Semitism by IHRA definition ‘Heads I win; Tails you lose’.
