West Bank Incursions – terrifying parallels with Gaza

The deadly incursions of this past few days are causing terrible harm to Palestinians, especially (at the moment) in the northern West Bank.  Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine sees “a serious pattern parallel with what is happening in the Gaza Strip”—“patterns of torture, of destruction, of extrajudicial killings, of uprooting that are very similar to Gaza.” She also said that: “It is my responsibility to warn against the risk of the genocide leaking into the West Bank. There is similar rhetoric, similar patterns, and escalating violence, ordering similar things.”

This is what “Israel’s right to defend itself” looks like with backing from the USA providing huge amounts for the weapons used to kill Palestinians, the UK reviewing whether the arms it is (still) selling are being used offensively or defensively and most media reporting from the perspective of Israel being under threat from terrorists, rarely if ever writing from the perspective of a Palestinian under threat from the State terror of Israel.  And now, after the over 50 Palestinians dead in the West Bank for every one Israeli, there is talk of “temporary evacuation” in the West Bank as we have witnessed in Gaza.
