All Palestine is a living nightmare; it really cannot continue!

JVL Introduction

This moving piece focuses on experiences in the West Bank, which must not be forgotten even as we focus on the enduring horrors in Gaza.  Demolitions, displacements, exclusions, arrests and more.  As she asks us to imagine being a Palestinian with a catalogue of deeply unjust experiences and we are compelled to do all we can to end this.  There cannot be peace – certainly not a real and lasting peace – without justice.

I wish you could see the living nightmare in Palestine. But how much more must we see before something is done?

This won’t end until those in power understand that you can’t have peace and stability while denying Palestinians their rights

  • The indifference of Western governments to suffering and their complicity in events they could ameliorate is quite terrifying. The Starmer government deserves every ounce of condemnation that can be mustered. They shame themselves, they shame their Party, they shame the labour movement. They cannot claim ignorance.

  • “All the tools at the disposal of those who want the world to act – journalism, protests, outcry and outrage – cannot end this catastrophe, nor even capture its gravity”.

There’s this WALL between what most of the peoples of the world want and the actions of their governments.

How come the peoples living in democracies (supposedly respectful of the popular will) are so unable to make their governments do what they want them to do?

  • I think we all know the real reason for the gap between government policy and public wishes, but we fear being attacked as anti-semites, just as our politicians fear such slander.
The organised Zionist Lobby wields disproportionate power through aggressive and strident smearing of opponents, supported by sympathetic right-wing media. Their malignant influence has been a dominant feature of our politics for decades. More than 80% of Tory MPs are members of Conservative Friends of Israel. Funded and directed by the Israeli Government, this article explains how they do it:

It’s classic foreign interference in government, against our interests, but now so strong that no-one will call it out.

  • When Palestinians have been killed or ethnically-cleansed from Zion / The Promised Land, then Zionists – both Christian and Jewish – will let them be. What’s not to like? The demolition of Al Aqsa mosque to make way for the Third Temple on Temple Mount may upset a few more Arabs and lead to Armageddon, but the Zionist nations – Israel, USA, UK, Germany, France with right on their side are bound to win through, even without help from Zionists and Evangelicals in other countries such as populous Nigeria and Brazil,

  • My father refused to relocate to Latin America or the Middle East because he maintained there are consequences of being on the side of the thieving supremacist oppressor, irrespective of how cleverly obfuscated that link may be. When I asked why he turned down the work he told me he could wake up in the middle of the night with a knife to his throat and the family are already gone. 90% of today’s so called journalists would call this an apology for terrorism. Seems like revenge is OK for some.
