Leah Levane

Leah Levane is Co Chair of Jewish Voice for Liberation. She worked mainly in South London, first as a teacher and then as a neighbourhood community development worker, frequently focusing on equalities issues and bringing people together to pursue shared interests, concerns and campaigns. She has been active on campaigning for justice for Palestinians for at least 25 years and participated in the 2009 convoy to Gaza (but only made it to Aqaba in Jordan); in 2012 spent 3 months in a protective presence role in the South Hebron Hills and in 2017 was part of the largest ever all Jewish delegation to Palestine. She was a local Labour councillor in Hastings until 2021 and was expelled from Labour a few months later for associating with organisations before they were proscribed.
