Israel is using its Gaza tactics in the West Bank

As we have noted previously attacks in the West Bank were rising sharply long before October 7th 2023 but have risen exponentially since that date with over 800 Palestinians killed by soldiers and also by settlers. Just days into the ceasefire with Gaza, military attacks by the Israeli army also intensified with a stated determination to “get rid of Palestinian factions”. The towns and camps of Jenin and Tulkarm were particularly targets with the same tactics of forced evacuation, including from the hospital in Jenin Camp, bombardment and mass arrests. At least 60 were arrested on the same day that 90 were released in the first exchange of Israeli and Palestinian hostages and many more have been arrested since then.
In addition to the military attacks, the army forces have intensified their checkpoints and erected iron gates at many more villages and entrances to the areas run by the Palestinian National Authority; (known as Area A under the Oslo Accords about 21% of the West Bank and including Jenin). 5 more martyrs today in Tulkarm. A Palestinian young man, tonight, was shot in the street in Tulkarm and injured. They are daily forcing Palestinian home demolitions in the Jerusalem Governorate and fiercely attacking Jenin refugee camp, destroying its infrastructure and taking hostages. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority has left the West Bank to the bulldozers, bombs and Israeli thugs, including the “settlers” [squatters] are burning Palestinian homes and ransacking Palestinian farmland. Only by resistance will these evil, immoral, Zionists, be defeated. I pray for them, in the hope that steadfastness and the strength of the Palestinians will defeat the vile enemy in its death throes.
