Horrific torture of Palestinians at Ofer Camp too

The daily torture and humiliation of Palestinians detained in Sde Teimann and Ofer prisons is horrific, illegal and will have a lasting impact on those subject to it. Many, if not most, are held without charge; these are the other hostages who are also demonised by being labelled “prisoners”. They are labeled as “unlawful combatants” and, this means a very brief legal procedure, which can be a three minute hearing via Zoom. Usually accused of “supporting terror”, they are then likely to be detained “for another six months” or until “the end of the war.”
We cannot get used to seeing images of Palestinians with their hands tied behind their backs, blindfolded and extremely vulnerable to abuse by soldiers who have been encouraged to think of Palestinians, especially those they detail as less than human. We all know to what levels of cruelty, barbarism and murder dehumanisation leads. Earlier this year BT’Selem pubished testimony of some who had been released from Sde Teiman prison and this +972 article shows that appalling treatment is taking place at Ofer prison too. The argument that such torture is exceptional is, therefore, demolished. Furthermore, there is, at least some, acceptance of torture in Israeli society as we recall that when a small number of Israeli soldiers were detained because of allegations that they had raped prisoners, some Israelis rioted for their immediate release.

This is as bad as Nazi Germany Gestapo. It seems it could well be worse. It is strange that Israel Zionist’s seem to be ok with this in any shape or form . Its like as if, what Psychologists call transference, is taking place whereby what Happened to the victims of Holocaust are transferring this horror on to Palestine. A strange catharsis where gross inhumanity and psychopathic behaviour is ok against Palestine when they had nothing to do with Holocaust.
