Israel’s Revenge Against Palestinian Prisoners

Reports of mistreatment of Palestinians incarcerated by Israel are not new but this has been ramped up exponentially since October 7th 2023 in what this ex prisoner calls a “war on Palestinians prisoners”. He refers to “the use of extreme, unpredictable and frenzied violence against prisoners, for instance daily physical beatings where there was no differentiation between male and female prisoners, nor between children and the elderly.”
Thousands have been left with injuries including broken bones and 68 have died since October 7th 2023, the majority almost certainly from the beatings, withdrawal of medical treatment, atrocious conditions and starvation as well as other forms of torture that have been deployed.
We must never forget that several thousands have been incarcerated under “administrative detention” which means there have been no charges and no due process. These are hostages too.

The programme of mass incarceration launched by President Bukele in El Salvador has attracted strong support from fascistic politicians in the US and equally strong condemnation elsewhere. It does not seem to have been noted, however, at least in mainstream media, that like many strategies of current authoritarian regimes it was lifted directly from Israel.
