Palestinian hostages in Israeli prisons
JVL Introduction
Israel holds many thousands of Palestinians as political prisoners, some over years or even decades.
Their arrest is governed by military law, army commanders having full executive, legislative and judicial authority over every Palestinian living under occupation. (Settlers, meanwhile, live under Israeli law.)
“Every year,” says B’Tselem, “thousands of Palestinians are brought before military courts on various charges, including entering Israel without a permit, stone-throwing, membership in illegal association, violence, firearms-related offenses and traffic violations. The latter constitute, on average, about 40% of all indictments a year.”
These Palestinian prisoners are in effect hostages.
Layth Hanbali describes what has been happening to them in Israeli prisons since 7 October.

The hatred towards Palestinians is breathtaking. From the elderly to children, they are treated as less than vermin and they are innocent, the misery and stress for their families must be terrible.
On the BBC’s News last they were talking about the Israeli hostages being released, they were going over the top in describing the relief for relatives that had been struggling with anguish and fear for their loved ones BUT as usual not a word about the Palestinians being held by Israel, some for years, after all Palestinians don’t suffer anguish, pain and desperation. The Bias at the BBC is truly disgusting.
