Israel’s High Court says Israel “may be” starving Palestinian prisoners

Israel’s government denies that it is not providing enough food incarcerated Palestinians just as it denies that it has created a man made famine in Gaza. There have been photos on social media of Palestinians before and after incarceration who have clearly lost significant amounts of weight.  On top of evidence of torture, this lack of food, is further evidence of Israel’s appalling treatment of Palestinian prisoners, significant numbers of whom have not been charged and are held under the uncertain parameters of “administrative detention”.  In August Ha’aretz published another piece on Israel’s Top Court’s  harsh criticism of prisoners’ treatment, noting, for example, that since October 7th 2023, no Red Cross visits have been allowed.

We also know from Israeli intelligence data that Militants account for only 1 in 4 Gaza detainees and there have been detailed reports of horrendous torture, including here by B’Tselem.

That the UK will welcome the Preident of Israel on September 11th in the context of genocide, occupation, starvation and torture should be beyond belief.  But it is true and is why we will continue to protest.
