Israel is Legislating to Introduce Lynch Law

The Knesset is debating and likely to pass a bill, pressed by the far right Jewish Power Party, which will legitimise Lynch Law. It is an apartheid law which will mandate death by hanging only for Palestinians convicted of ‘terrorist’ killing but will not apply to Israelis. Settlers who rampage through the West Bank murdering Palestinians are not covered.
The law would be wrong even if the state killings followed a fair judicial process. Convictions will be through military courts which do not remotely allow fair trials. Leading legal experts have condemned the failings of the courts on many grounds including: that they ” lack independence and impartiality”; “the right to regular and confidential access to legal advice is systematically violated”.
Even without this new law, 110 Palestinian security detainees have died under Ben Gvir’s prison regime since October 7 2023.

Israel split over plans to bring back death penalty for deadly attacks
Israel has only twice used the death penalty against a convicted prisoner. The last time was more than sixty years ago, to hang the notorious Nazi war criminal, Adolf Eichmann.

It is counter productive. Many terrorists are prepared to risk their lives to achieve their goal anyway. If they know they will be executed anyway if caught, they will try even harder. It will be interesting to monitor the effect of this proposed legislation. Furthermore, anyone handing down the death penalty to a resident of occupied territory who has killed an occupying soldier, is by definition a war criminal and risks being sanctioned by many nations. How many Israeli judges want to be in that position?
There is no “law” or conscience by “Israeli’s”, for Palestinians in “Israel”. As the fascist, state-armed, terrorist settler-militia rampage through the West Bank of Palestine, burning homes, stealing land, abducting men women and children, they don’t need a “law”. Seventy-eight years of impunity, killing without accountability, the lawless Zionist rabble have spat in the face of the United Nations and any semblance of “International Law”. “Israel” as a state has no right to exist. Its resort to open, state-sanctioned murder, is testament to its demise. For the sake of peace in the Middle East and the saviour of the Palestinians and their homeland, we need to keep raising our voices and put the Zionists accomplices and their apparatchiks in Western Governments to shame.

Shamefully, the West German government had known about Eichmann’s whereabouts since 1952 but chose to protect him:
“Hitherto secret intelligence files have revealed that the former West Germany was fully aware that the infamous Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann was hiding in South America almost a decade before he was kidnapped by Mossad agents and put on trial in Israel.”

The Israeli government may have been culpable too. It appears that action was only taken after they were pushed into it by a Jewish activist.
