An utter failure of empathy and imagination
JVL Introduction
Arielle Angel, Jewish Currents Editor-in Chief, discusses how common Jewish reactions to Palestinian flags place themselves in the centre of the narrative and move the feelings of Palestinians to the margins. By seeing any emblem of Palestinian identity not as an example of self-expression but as a threat to Jews, they ascribe antisemitism where it does not exist and in so doing delegitimise and silence Palestinians.
Angel discusses how the reaction of Israel’s apologists to any mention the Nakba attempts to place the experience of Palestinians beyond consideration and fails the essential human duty of empathy.

An excellent and insightful and enlightening article.
Needless to say, the reason why the black propagandists focus so much on dehumanising people is so that they – the people the propagandists have manipulated – are then much less likely to empathise with those people and the reality they are in.
Empathy is the enemy of the psychopaths. So dehumanising – along with hate-mongering and fear-mongering – are the name of the game.
PS This morning I read an article by Jonathan Cook that he posted on April 14 (which I somehow missed at the time) entitled ‘Will crisis-plagued Netanyahu start a war to save his skin?’, and it just really brought it home what a totally twisted and insane reality the likes of Netanyahu bring to our world, as they no doubt have done for millennia. I expect most people who follow JVL have already read it, but here’s a link to it for those that haven’t:
