Palestine: Two recent videos from Doubledown News

JVL Introduction

Doubledown News continues its remarkable work with two new videos on the realities facing Palestinians today.

The first narrated by Mohammed El-Kurd, is a highly personal account of the occupation and the attempt to wipe Palestinians out of history.

The second, narrated by Andrew Feinstein, exposes the reality of Israeli domination and how it has become the fulcrum of a fascist, ethno-nationalist project effectively aided and abetted by Western governments and media.

“For 75 years the Israeli government has worked to ensure we no longer exist”

Narrated by Mohammed El-Kurd

“It’s seen as noble and right for Ukrainians to defend themselves so why’s it not right for Palestinians?”

Narrated by Andrew Feinstein:

  • It seems to me that the cancer of supporting a settle colonial state is now spreading out to other ‘democratic’ countries. The UK is now enacting many draconian laws and imprisoning peaceful protesters with sentences of more than 2 years.

  • I met Andrew Feinstein recently and we talked about comparing apartheid South Africa and apartheid Israel. I am not easily impressed by any politician but that day I was. Similarly, I was impressed by Kim Johnson MP who dared describe Israel as a fascist state in the House of Commons; she has been criticised for withdrawing her statement but the ‘real politique’ ensured that unless she did she would have the Labour whip withdrawn and never allowed a platform to speak on any issue. Respect.

  • The reasons given by anti-Semites these days for their animosity towards Jews are not so much to do with Jews but more to do with the likes of Kier Starmer. And now if you attack the parasitic elements of the one percent, you are accused of dog whistle anti-Semitism – that you really mean “The Jews” but will not say it directly.. Excuse me? Who is that is equating Jews with parasitic behaviour here? Are we incapable of simple logic? Their opportunist self advancement has no moral compass whatsoever except me, me, me. Whatever there is to be played, they will play it, for the benefit of their own petty careers. We have become a small country – not in itself a problem. Unfortunately run by small people. And greedy ‘businessmen’ that have discovered to their great joy that they can accuse their critics of being anti-Semitic.
