Don’t mention the Nakba
JVL Introduction
When three Jewish scholars, two of them with impeccable ‘liberal Zionist’ backgrounds dare to question Israel’s policies, even to a limited extent, and mention the Nakba there is uproar.
No dissent is allowed, this is the real cancel culture in full flow. Discussion of the Nakba, even the merest mention, is anathema to those who attended a conference not to learn and discuss but to have their preconceived ideas stroked and flattered.
This is what happens when Jews attempt to present a little of Palestinian history; an invitation to Palestinians to talk to Jews about their history and experience is simply unthinkable.

Whilst acknowledging the displacement of Palestinians when Israel was established , at the same tine 750 ,000 Jews were displaced from the Arab lands where they had lived for centuries.
This article reminds me that my cousin (born in USA but as a teenager family relocated to Israel, was in the Israeli Army as photographer and subsequently a lawyer who views himself as liberal) referred to the Palestinians in 1948 as ‘running away’. I guess this is the phrase used by lots of Jewish people in Israel, including in schools.
