BBC will not show ‘Gaza: Medics Under Fire’

The BBC has now clarified that it will not show the documentary “Gaza: Medics Under Fire” that it commissioned a year ago. Due to be broadcast in February, delays apparently resulted from the investigation into another documentary ‘Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone’ that it had broadcast but then pulled from iplayer.
Earlier this week, the Centre for Media Montoring produced a detailed report on the many ways that BBC’s coverage of the war on Gaza is bias against Palestinians. This is another example of Palestinian voices being suppressed. Time and time again the importance of trying to see things from a Palestinian point of view (as well as Israelis) is clear and yet, once again, the BBC worries that this would be against the impartiality ideal that it distorts, time and time again.
This report of the decision, ironically on the BBC’s own website, is very good and it is interesting to note that as it has not been approved, it is not considered a BBC film and so the company is free to get the film shown. We look forward to hearing more about this in the near future.

The BBC says it has decided not to broadcast a documentary about doctors working in Gaza, due to impartiality concerns it has surrounding the production.

Have they ever pulled an Israeli film over fears about partiality?
Since Jeremy Corbyn was elected as the last true leader of the former Labour Party the BBC has repeatedly been shooting itself in both feet. It is now most difficult to sit through much of its political coverage on a whole raft of interrelated topics.
I doubt Tim Davey will much reflect upon the damage he has overseen as he races toward his seat in the Lords. Likely, being kept warm by Lord Walney.
This is outrageous. How can the lived experience of medics be biased? The BBC continues to fail. Heartbreaking.
Now its not the property of the BBC is Basement Films trying to get it shown e.g. by Channel 4? Any way we can help push for it to be broadcast somewhere other than cowardly BBC?
