On Tuesday June 17, the Centre for Media Monitoring launched a damning report on the BBC’s coverage of Israel’s war on Gaza. Very quickly footage began to circulate of a blistering attack by veteran journalist Peter Oborne on the hapless BBC representative present at the launch event in Westminster The encounter is described in the report we published last week from Jonathan Coulter.
Jonathan Cook has produced his own detailed critique of the issues Oborne raised and the dismal inadequacy of the responses he received. Well worth your attention.

I am still waiting for an apology or recanting by Emma Barnett of her item about the “mass rape” of Jewish women by Hamas on October 7th being ignored by the world’s press because we are all anti semitic. This was one of her last contributions to Woman’s Hour before she was promoted to the BBC’s main news programne on Radio 4, Today.
BBC reports of the pro-Palestinian marches have been vanishingly rare. They managed to omit views of the Jewish Bloc banners altogether, which is the equivalent of an incompetent journalist missing a major story. The failure to show the presence of children of holocaust survivors is particularly insulting. Failing to show that many Jews are opposed to Netanyahu makes for a particularly dangerous – potentially violent – imbalance. Without it more people are eventually going to blame ALL Jews for what happened when the truth comes out. Such people will, no doubt, be castigated for antisemitism. A triumph for Zionist nationalism. Shouldn’t the BBC, as part of its public duty, do its utmost to minimise such tensions?
This is a very valuable summary of what has been happening. The more information like this that is provided, the more British people will realise that their country has been taken over by a foreign power, one which can have no claim for decent behaviour.
Fortunately, change is on its way in many fields and there will be a surplus of people, currently well-paid, in the jobs market.
Frankly I am not surprised. I packed in taking the BBC seriously during the 1984/5 miners Strike. Then, as now, their reporting / editing was biased, slanted and politically skewed to the Govt of the day. Why am I still forced to fund these creeps?
