Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi

Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi has been JVL’s media officer since the group’s foundation in 2017. She worked as a Reuters correspondent and editor for 20 years, and then as a teacher specialising in literacy support for primary school children. Naomi has been actively involved in pro-Palestinian activism since 2004 when she became a signatory to Jews for Justice for Palestinians, then going on to help found Jews for Boycotting Israeli Goods. As an active supporter of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, she played a leading role in the foundation in 2015 of Artists for Palestine UK, co-writing its booklet The Case for a Cultural Boycott of Israel. She played a prominent role on the left of the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership, working to hold the left together after Jeremy’s ousting. She stood successfully for a place on the National Executive Committee in 2022 but was then herself expelled from the party.
