Amy Goodman and Denis Moynihan report on the staggering number of journalists targeted and killed while reporting on the war on Gaza.
To date, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), 46 Palestinians, four Israelis and three Lebanese reporters have been killed. Eleven have been injured, three remain missing, and 18 Palestinian journalists have been arrested by Israel.
News reports forrom embedded journalists amount, say the authors, to Israeli state propaganda. They are obviously not the ones who are being targeted.
Ann unnamed Biden administration official feared that a pause in the war “would allow journalists broader access to Gaza and the opportunity to further illuminate the devastation there and turn public opinion on Israel.”
In other words, the US has knowingly given Israel the green light to target journalists.

Just came across this on Al Jazeera’s website from a few days ago – ie yet another whopping great big lie by the Israeli State mass-murdering mafia:
‘Fact or Fiction: Israel needs fake nurses to justify killing Gaza babies’
Israel knows it risks losing global support over its slaughter of children. So it’s turning to social media disinformation that’s sloppy but often effective.
On November 11, the official Arabic account run by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted a video of a nurse, apparently agitated, talking about Hamas overrunning the al-Shifa Hospital, and taking all the fuel and morphine. She claimed that because Hamas had stolen morphine, she couldn’t use it on a five-year-old with a fracture.
The video, which was retweeted thousands of times, was a clear fake. No staff in the vicinity appear to recognise the individual featured, casting doubt on her identity and role. Robert Mackey, a journalist with the research agency Forensic Architecture, spoke to three Doctors Without Borders staff members working at the al-Shifa Hospital, none of whom recognised her.
The video was almost comic in its absurdity. The nurse spoke with a non-Palestinian accent, and her dialogue seemed to perfectly echo Israeli military talking points about Hamas stealing all the fuel from hospitals.

I just did a search to see if the UK media are reporting these deaths, or murders, and came across a BBC News article from November 7th in which it says the following:
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was targeting Hamas throughout Gaza and accused the group of placing military operations “in the vicinity of journalists and civilians”.
As if! Oh, right, and the journalists (and civilians) just remain there next to them! I wonder what these so-called military operations consist of?! Needless to say they are being targeted, and they are easy targets for their drones to identify.And civilians are also killed in the process.
I can’t work out the maths, but if the population of Gaza is 2.3m, and around 15,000 have been killed to date, then that’s less than 1%, which implies that there must be more than 5,300 journalists in Gaza if, that is, the same ratio of journalists are being killed as civilians and Hamas. As I say, they are of course being targeted, just as Shireen Abu Akleh was. In other words, murdered.

I was watching Al Jazeera live yesterday and the reporter was outside the Al Jazeera building in Gaza talking about how they had a call from the IDF saying they would be bombed. he said it was quite a regular occurrence. He also said that Associated Press offices were in the block as well as solicitors and legal advocates and the top floors were apartments. As he was talking a missile hit the building and he was very shocked as was I. Then two more missiles hit and he talked very emotionally about losing the space they worked in for 10 years and whilst he was saying this the whole building went like jelly and collapsed to the ground. I heard the people screaming and running for safety and I was actually sick. It was as shocking as watching the 9/11 World Trade Centre coming down. I saw nothing on any of the British News channels nor on the US. It was probably one of the most dramatic news stories live ever. It would be in the category of watching the Hindenburg Airship go up in flames on ay 6th 1937 but no other news channel showed it. It was bizarre.
