Gideon Levy states the obvious truth about Israel’s war on the Palestinians in Gaza and, increasingly, in the West Bank as well.
Children are seeing all around them “the dead, dying, bleeding, groaning, wounded, disabled, the orphans, the terrified, the homeless and penniless”.
These are their siblings, their friends. “They’re the next generation, and they’ll never forget.”
Yet Israeli society as a whole remains oblivious to the hate its army is sowing…

When 9/11 happened my shock wasn’t just the horrific event itself but at the anger that surely unpinned it. What followed was a sense of shame at only then really becoming aware of such bitter resentment towards countries like America and Britain. Then came the search for the ‘weapons of mass destruction.’ Well, I think we’ve found them, but now the US and UK wilfully refuse to see the horror of what such awful weaponry is doing to Gaza. Such unimaginable suffering and destruction.
I cannot bear to think of what happened on the 7th October yet there seems to me to be a horrifying truth that underpins it. If countries like the UK and US will only turn their heads to ‘the problem of Palestine’ when Israelis die but not when Palestinians die, then we are not all wholly innocent, removed from what occurred on that dreadful day. For now the Palestinians of Gaza and the West Bank finally have some global media and political attention. But at what a terrible human cost, both for them and the people of Israel.
And here are some clips from an article Caitlin Johnstone posted today entitled ‘Only Truth And Clear Seeing Can Lead Us To Peace And Harmony’:
The Independent has an article out titled “Inside a southern Gaza hospital: Screaming orphaned children, amputee toddlers and the stench of rotting flesh,” which begins as follows:
“A badly burned toddler screaming for the mother he doesn’t know is dead — and screaming because doctors do not have enough painkillers to relieve his suffering. An eight-year-old boy whose brain is exposed…….
These horrors are all caused by a genocidal onslaught that is being backed to the hilt by the US government, who just single-handedly blocked a UN resolution demanding a ceasefire to end this nightmare. Instead of focusing on the unfathomable depravity of all this, Americans are being propagandized into worrying about a completely fictional epidemic of university demonstrators chanting for the genocide of Jews.
But for all the efforts to spin, justify and distract from the mass atrocity Israel and its allies are perpetrating in Gaza, more and more people are opening their eyes to what’s happening, and are ceasing to fall for the propaganda any longer.

But as it says in the above article in effect, the Israeli regime are doing their damnedest to make sure there in no ‘clear seeing’ on the part of the vast majority of Israelis. And HAVE been for decades!

It’s time to rehabilitate the reputation and idealism of Corbyn. He has now been completely airbrushed from history; his name only ever mentioned in connection with the ‘worst election result in Labour history’ in 2019. Time that he was given an apology by the BBC, the Guardian, and all the MSM who closed ranks to blacken his name and terrify voters.

It is no surprise that the USA and Israel both want the destruction, (and eventual Jewish colonisation), of “Palestinian Zion” to continue: Jewish Zionists “regain” Zion and Christian Zionists achieve a prophesied condition for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Telling EVERBODY to vacate a Gazan neighbourhood before razing it to the ground is not “targeting Hamas”. The Israeli military and irregular “settlers” in the W Bank are engaged in ethnic cleansing verging on genocide.
I share your despair, Alexander. The only things I can think to do personally are to be a voice for the voiceless; a channel for information that others (with more influence) can use to stop the killing (or stop support for the killers); and a giver of a few pounds towards the relief of suffering.
We’re watching another Holocaust, in the full knowledge from history of what untrammelled evil is and the harm it does down the generations.
