Explaining why there are so many causalties in Gaza

In an extended compilation and analysis, Yuval Abraham, writing in +972 Magazine, unpicks Israel’s military strategy in Gaza, explaining why it has resulted in such a high casualty rate.
He has done so in consultation with many informants, including seven current and former members of Israel’s intelligence community.
The long and the short of it is that the army has considerably expanded the targets it chooses to bomb, now targeting many that are not distinctly military in nature – including private residences as well as public buildings, infrastructure, and high-rise blocks which it defines as “power targets”. The bombing of such power targets, it appears, “is mainly intended to harm Palestinian civil society”.
As Abraham reports: “The sources understood, some explicitly and some implicitly, that damage to civilians is the real purpose of these attacks.”
Adding to the slaughter is the use of an AI system called Habsora (“The Gospel”) to select targets at a fast pace. As a former intelligence officer explained, that system enables the army to run a “mass assassination factory” in which the “emphasis is on quantity and not on quality.”
In this process international law is being shredded with all distinction between civilian and military targets being defined out of existence.
Where, oh where, are the protests of Western political leaders at this gutting of all protection against gemocide?

The world owes Yuval Abraham, +972 Magazine and Local Call a huge debt of thanks for explaining in this awful, shameful detail how the horrors visited on Gaza came to be. It’s a recital sickening to the mind and the stomach.
It took the Nuremburg Trials, the extensive, long-lasting De-Nazification programme and new systems of government and social values to expiate Germany’s Fascism and return the country and its citizens to a bright and non-criminal future. I now think Israel needs to go through a similarly radical process.
Perhaps the first step though is to stop US, UK and other nations providing Israel with the powerful weapons allowing the country to flatten its neighbours free from fear they’ll be able to do the same in return?
Perhaps there’s some way to support the UK lawyers’ demands that the UK stops arm supplies (as international law requires it does)?
