Jonathan Cook tells it like he sees it – and the picture is bleak:
- Western doubletalk providing cover for even further demonisation of Hamas when it does not capitulate by accepting what the White House calls an “extraordinarily generous” deal;
- and this being a prelude to the bombing of Rafah, the destruction of virtually every building in Gaza, and another mass slaughter of civilians.
- and the West will wring its hands and forgive because what other choice did Israel have?
Cook spells out his nightmare vision in some detail and says:
“That’s the likely plan. Our job is to do everything in our power to stop them making it a reality.”

The Israel-US game plan for Gaza is staring us in the face
The western media is pretending the West’s efforts to secure a ceasefire are serious. But a different script has clearly been written in advance

Excellent analysis by Jonathan Cook, its so important to be able to read the truth,the reality of what is really going on.
A permanent ceasefire must happen for the sake of all humanity.
Israel wants complete Ethinic Cleansing and the U.S. is desperate to start the extracting of the Gas under Gaza, Netanyahu is taking full advantage of this, by carrying on with the Genocide, with genuine pressure from Biden.
My guess is, that the Ethnic Cleansing will carry on as long as possible, there has been reports of what is happening in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, the vicious Settlers have been taking full advantage and apparently many Palestinians are leaving before they are murdered.
The US is playing a deceitful game, pretending to care about the Civilian population in Gaza but watching on as Israel clears the way for the U.S. Oil Companies to move in at the earliest possible moment.
I also believe that the Floating Harbour isn’t for Palestinian refugees but is for unloading all the equipment needed to get the drilling rigs in position. They are desperate to start, along with many EU Countries, who are desperate for the Gas, since the Nordstream Pipelines were blown up, crippling their Industries, especially Germany, who were about to sign contracts with Russia to have a Gas Pipeline directly from Russia straight into Germany, the Russian attack on the Ukraine forced them to cancel.
These Countries will be purchasing the Gas from the U.S., it’s why they are not condemning the Genocide.
Jonathan Cook has presented in horrific detail what I immediately suspected of what the Israeli’s ‘generous’ ceasefire plan is intended to bring about; I suspect that many others here will have suspected the same grisly intention on the part of the Israeli government.
An excellent analysis as always, Jonathan. And so depressing. You say we should do everything in our power to stop this genocide. Agreed. But what can we do in the face of such EVIL?
Absolutely right (as always). Others have mentioned the future exploitation of energy reserves, but 14: we will rapidly see clearances, new roads and other infrastructure being built, homes springing up for settlers, and the long hoped-for canal created to give Israel and the west an alternative to the Suez Canal.
It’s all so depressingly predictable.
