Tracing the apocalypse
JVL Introduction
October 7th put the question of Palestine firmly back at the centre of the world’s political agenda.
Netanyahu’s bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus is part of an attempt to decentre it once more, inviting an Iranian response that could be presented as an “existential threat” to Israel.
This has seemingly brought the US enthusiastically back on Israel’s side for now
In the meantime, say the authors:
“one thing for certain is that the apocalypse in Palestine continues unabated. Israeli bombs and shelling are still massacring Palestinians in the north and south of Gaza, as famine spreads throughout. The pogroms rage on in the West Bank, while settlements continue to be constructed there and across East Jerusalem at record pace.”
Palestine is still the issue.
