The problems with Israel’s version of the killing of reporter Shireen Abu Akleh
JVL Introduction
Time Magazine does not generally take a radical stance on global issues so its article on the murder of Shireen Abu Akleh is especially noteworthy.
Reporter Orly Halpern immediately puts the story into a wider context: “Deny and deflect is Israel’s usual strategy for dealing with high-profile civilian deaths.”
So it was no surprise that the Israeli official explanantion this time – it was Palestinian gunmen what done it – unravelled within minutes of being propagated.
No truth can be expected from the offical Israeli investigation…

I tried to post the powerful image of Shireen on twitter, but the site rejected it automatically. Will this change when Musk is CEO? Somehow I doubt it.;.
Israelis are killed, Palestinians die. International press disgraces itself.
Please, please someone make this a poster, every one seen would start a conversation with everyone who saw it, it would also raise funds to support the Palestinian cause.
I am saddened deeply by this death and the whole horror that is happening in Palestine, but like many people I don’t do social media, if I had this powerful iconic image on my wall everyone who came through my door would notice and the story would be told and could not be shut down.
They can shut us down on the new technology, please consider going back to the old.
Quote below from “Times of Israel” on 11/5/22, when the Israeli army were still trying to deny that they did it. Even then, “they’re armed with cameras” says it all.
“But even if soldiers shot at — or, God forbid, hurt — someone who was not involved, this happened in battle, during a firefight, where this Palestinian is with the shooters. So this thing can happen,” Israeli military spokesperson Ran Kochav told Army Radio.
Kochav described Abu Akleh as “filming and working for a media outlet amidst armed Palestinians. They’re armed with cameras, if you’ll permit me to say so.”
I’ve posted that great tribute to Shireen on Twitter and pleased to say that at present it’s still there. As Ann suggests, it would make a marvelous poster.
Hypocrisy favouring Israel is also supported by Starmer’s Labour Party.
The state of Israel can, apparently, get away with anything and everything. British politics is in thrall to the Zionists’ blackmail, bribery and “financial support”. No US politicians can afford to ignore, or indeed to gainsay, the “Israel Lobby” and its huge financial and perverse moral clout, backed up by the “New Christian” lobby’s enthusiasm.
This is creating a dangerous imbalance in western politics, and the victims are anyone with the temerity to disagree with their – let’s call it for what it is – “New World Order”. British politics since 2015 have offered ample proof of that.
