David Hearst, editor-in-chief of Middle East Eye, writes here about the green light the world is giving Israel, following three days of bombardment of Gaza without even the excuse of self-defence.
He writes: “Israel is under a profound delusion if it thinks that Palestinians will just melt away. This is the last thing on this generation’s mind. They will stand and fight. It’s not flight they are thinking of, but liberation.”

There can be no clearer demonstration of the hollowness of western values than in the persistent, cynical and criminal failure to bring Israel to book for its actions

A lot of this is down to the Israeli Lobby. We expect the Press to be biased towards Israel but the BBC is a total disgrace, they are silent on every heinous action by Israel.
