A soldier is not a civilian

JVL Introduction

Israeli consciousness has repressed ths fact that it is an occupying power.

So all resistance becomes defined as “terrorism” and any action against soldiers conflated with action against civilians.

As a result says Orly Noy, “in the eyes of the vast majority of the Israeli media there is no Palestinian struggle that is not inherently defined as terrorism, be it armed or unarmed.”

Furthermore, “When it comes to the Palestinian struggle, Israel chooses to have its cake and eat it too: to kill Palestinians as combatants, while jailing them as civilians, not as prisoners of war, as is required by international law.”

+972 Magazine refuses to allow these elisions, insisting on representing the realities as they are. Its articles should be read and widely distributed.
