An update on the UK student protests in support of Palestine, as students set up encampments at the School of Oriental and African Studies (Soas) and at Oxford, Cambridge, Liverpool and Edinburgh universities.
These are in addition to those detailed in our earlier post on Gaza Solidarity encampments in Britain here.

Visited the Sheffield University encampment today, information stalls and tents, lots of activities planned and a quiet dignified presence.
These Students deserve all the praise they get. The most impressive thing is, it’s happening across the World and it is the younger generation that’s taking this stand, this bodes well for the future, a number of them will go into politics and if they believe in challenging Israel now, they are more likely to call out any Country that is violating Human Rights, creating wars for financial gain and more, much more!!
Nothing so far has caused Netanyahu and his Cabinet of Ministers, let’s hope that these University Students make a difference and quite quickly.
“We will not tolerate antisemitism, Islamophobia and any other form of racial or religious hatred, or other unlawful activity.”
Perhaps they should add “genocide” at the top of the list of things they won’t tolerate!!
I am so proud of all the students taking part in these peaceful protests. I wonder if a coordinated protest by alumni, even by petitions and letters would help.

Huge Palestinian flags are hanging on campuses across Spain as thousands of students protest against Israel’s war in Gaza.
Some classes have stopped this week as students demonstrate in Barcelona, Valencia, the Basque Country and Madrid.
Across Europe, similar sit-ins have taken place at universities in the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark and Germany, as young people join their United States peers who are facing a violent police response.

There is only ONE thing radicalising students, and that is the evil and the terror being inflicted on the people of Gaza by Israel.
