Islamophobia in the Labour Party – shocking survey results
JVL Introduction
Labour Muslim Network (LMN) has published its latest shocking survey findings, showing a significant reduction in the levels of confidence that Muslim Party members and supporters have in the Labour Party and its leadership.
JVL sees this as being, at least in part, a consequence of the Party effectively creating a hierarchy of racism with antisemitism continuing to dominate, eg in disciplinary issues.
There are certainly some indications that Black and Muslim Councillors are more likely to have been deselected, or not selected as new candidates in the forthcoming local elections and even if this is just a perception, it is one that the Party is doing little to change.

Based on the first LMN survey there should be around 10 Islamophobia complaints handled by Labour HQ for each one antisemitism complaints.
In reality the ratio is not 10:1, but less than 0.1 :1.
Labour Muslims said their complaints were ignored, now we see the scale of that grotesque political and racist hierarchy.

I will only comment on the supposed definition of Islamaphobia and what it terms as ‘Muslimness ‘. It is crap. Utter nonsense. instead of confronting the Islamaphobic and racist nature of the IHRA misdefinition of antisemitism it simply mimics it. Totally pathetic. Anti-Muslim racist is, like anti-Semitism, easy to understand. Hostility to or prejudice against someone because they are a Muslim.
Why do you buy into all this racial awareness nonsense? This is simply the proto-Muslim bourgeoisie aping their Zionist counterparts. It has nothing to do with genuine anti-racism. Its how the Muslim bourgeoisie defines it and in the process it separates racism from class.
Taking Mr Starmer’s record on anti-Semitism into account this experience of the Muslim members of the LP confirms his use of Divide and Rule. Additionally I emphasise, for as a once dyed in the wool Labour member that the LP no longer represents me or my socialist views.
The 2022 survey detects a strong negative shift in Labour Muslims’ views and perceptions of their party since a previous survey of 2020. In its introduction, JVL attributes this change, at least in part, to the Party having created a hierarchy of racism, with antisemitism at the top. I find this explanation highly plausible: what else could have caused such a loss of confidence over the intervening period? Notwithstanding, I question the approach that some Muslim organisations have adopted in pushing back against this bias. The main tool in the pro-Israel armoury has been the IHRA definition of antisemitism, and in the article above we see that they are lobbying for their own IHRA-lookalike, “the APPG working definition of Islamophobia” which is cited verbatim above. I fear that by pushing such a bespoke definition, they are in fact legitimising the IHRA definition and the whole idea of a hierarchy of racisms. Would it not be a better strategy to reject all such complex bespoke definitions of racism and discrimination against minority groups, and instead of that advocate for a simple definition that can be adapted to all minority groups? This could be: “hostility to or prejudice against , as ”, where the minority X may be Roma, Jews, Muslims, trans people or other groups. Such an approach would be advantageous in terms of simplicity and in helping to achieve equality among groups subjected to racism and discrimination.
During Starmer’s RULE I see more & more divisions created BY STARMER & his motley crew of Right Wing followers. Frankly all the articles & people’s complaints I read & heard points to Starmer’s Labour with Evans, Blair & Mandelson’s paid advice with the welcomed return of the likes of Akehurst, Austin & those with a dream of excluding ALL those once followed in the thousands Mr.Corbyn & John McDonnell’s policies which DID include all.
Now exclusion of Asian, Black, Jewish, Muslim women is plain to see.
Replacing many of them with older, white, British Males is also plain to see.
This whole destruction of a multicultural Labour Party was planned from the start of Jeremy Corbyn’s election as Labour Leader..& planned by those welcome back, yet THE FORDE REPORT remains hidden & the threat that it may even be destroyed like the Labour party! So what DOES the FORDE REPORT SAY that STARMER keeps secret ???????The TRUTH???
