Is the evacuation of Masafer Yatta imminent?
JVL Introduction
We are understandably focused on the appalling assault on Jenin, but meanwhile the c. 1,300 residents of the 12 hamlets of Masafer Yatta in the South Hebron Hills may soon be displaced from their homes and land.
Israel declared the area a Firing Zone (FZ 918) which means that the people who have lived there, often from before the creation of the State of Israel, are expected to move away with their sheep and goats.
Last year the final legal challenge was rejected by Israel’s Supreme Court; this was before the current extreme right wing government proposed reducing that Court’s powers. Just one of the many stark facts from this article is that every single school in the area has a demolition order on it.
Displacing the people of Masafer Yatta is another example of Israel’s violation of International Law, which explicitly forbids such deportation.

The Destruction of This Palestinian Community Was Green-Lighted by Israel’s Supreme Court
The Israeli military wants the homes of Masafer Yatta for target practice. And the country’s Supreme Court says that’s totally kosher.

Zionist Israel will not stop until all Palestinian land has been stolen, and every Palestinian either dead, or being tortured in an Israeli prison…Meanwhile, the rest of the world has turned its back, and is ignoring the plight of the Palestinians …The rule of law, and humanity truly is dead.
Israel isn’t going to stop, not even slow down its drive to drive out all the Palestinians from their homeland. This is ethnic cleansing at its worst and yet we hear nothing from the BBC, who give daily reports on Ukraine, often not telling the truth. Yet they described the event in Jenin as, Israel searching for Terrorists, it’s beyond any kind of joke. The BBC supports Israel, to the point where it covers for its heinous crimes against the Palestinian people.
