If the IDF kills you, you become Hamas

It is not news that the IDF lies repeatedly, claiming that whoever they kill—journalist, medic, rescue worker—is a Hamas terrorist and that every school and hospital they bomb is a Hamas command centre. In their eyes even babies are future terrorists. The quickest way to become Hamas is post-mortem, once the Israelis have killed you.
Tareq Hajjaj describes one well documented instance: journalist Hassan Eslayah targetted and grievously wounded when the journalists’ tent outside Nasser Hospital was bombed killing several reporters. The Israelis claim Hassan was fighting in Khan Younis on October 7 when he was reporting from Rafah.
In contrast, Israeli journalist Danny Kushmaro filmed himself detonating a bomb to destroy a home in Gaza but of course faced no sanction.

Israel targeted my colleague, Hassan Eslayeh, claiming that he was a Hamas fighter. This isn’t the first time Israel has used this lie to justify targeting journalists, paramedics, and rescue workers.
