The BBC, Bob Vylan and THAT chant!

JVL Introduction

What did Bob Vylan actually mean by the chant “Death, Death to the IDF” at Glastonbury this summer? He has been vilified, his planned performances in the USA stopped as a result and he has been condemned, predictably, by the Chief Rabbi and by Keir Starmer. Here Tim Lawrence castigates the BBC once again and also refers to an interview that Louis Theroux did with Bob Vylan. An interview that is not being aired on BBC (surprise, surprise)

You can listen to the podcast here but Theroux’s major podcast sponsor, British Airways has pulled its support  after this interview! They are all guilty, like those opposing the ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans of eliding Jews with support for genocide, which is one of the most antisemitic things I can think of!

  • Theroux was actually doing just the kind of journalism the BBC should be responsible for: digging deeper to establish the meaning of what people are saying, giving them an opportunity to explain themselves and be heard, not shying away from the truth. He BBC is a dismal failure in this respect.
