How pro-Israel lobbies operate vary country by country, but all have a lot in common.
The Dutch example is an interesting case study, written up by Adri Nieuwhof in the Electronic Intifada in the article below.
Smear campaigns, threats of violence, attempts at defunding human rights groups, efforts to restrict academic freedom, threats of lawsuits and cyberattacks are among the intimidation tactics identified.
The Israel lobby group CIDI is at the heart of a majority of attacks, but many other groups are involved, including Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs and the Israel-based group NGO Monitor.

Such a shame. Forty or fifty years ago, The Netherlands was one of the most liberal countries in Europe.
Sadly, like many other countries throughout the world, it to, has fallen victim to sustained misinformation, which has damaged, what once was, a natural, and very attractive, liberalism.
Actually I (too) am worried by the picture you showed one of the protestors holding.
