The Kenneth Roth affair rumbles on

The independent daily student newspaper at Harvard Univeristy, the Harvard Crimson, reports a wave of anger among university affiliates at the refusal to give former Human Rights Watch Executive Director Kenneth Roth a fellowship at the Kennedy School of Government which he had already been offered.
This follows publication of an interview with Kenneth Roth in which he claimed that this was because of HRW’s criticism of Israel and asked the University President outright if he was in favour of academic freedom.

So pleased the wider world (as personified by the 360 Harvard affiliates and 19 student organisations) have stood up to and may well defeat the Elmendorf-facilitated witch hunt against Roth.
The idea that Israel should be beyond criticism is a very strange kind of madness. How would it be if every time anyone criticised the UK or the USA they were blackballed?
I think a good way to challenge the dean would be to ask if there are any other states that shouldn’t be criticised and why.
