Defend the right to boycott – or watch more of all our civil liberties disappear.
JVL Introduction
Labour and Palestine, together with the Palestine Solidarity Campaign have issued this call to get this motion through CLPs. With modest amendment, this could also be put to Trade Union branches and wider. The focus is rightly and importantly on the fight for justice for Palestinians but, as the preamble outlines, it is also part of the overall clampdown on all our civil liberties, most especially our right to protest. Also now, if arrested for protest and, especially for direct action, it would seem that we are now unable to explain the reasons for our actions, ie to argue that our actions were proportionate, which has been taken into account in the past.
JVL encourages all to put a motion with these aims to the relevant organisations in which you are involved.

I would definitely support such a motion but I binned my Labour Party membership when Starmer became leader.
But you can adapt it for your Trade Union branch….
I’ve left the labour party, but I would have loved to try and get this through my CLP. Watch all the rightwingers squerm
Do try to get it through your Union branch or any other relevant organisation you are involved in. Good luck
I successfully put a similar BDS motion to my Branch and it goes before the CLP at the end of this month. Fingers crossed, as ours is not a radical CLP.
