Top artists join campaign to end UK arms sales to Israel
JVL Introduction
A collaboration between Artists for Palestine UK, Global Action Legal Network (GLAN) and Palestinian human rights organisation Al-Haq has resulted in five very short films by award-winning British artists – Juliet Stevenson, Khalid Abdalla, David Calder, Charlotte Church and Maxine Peake.
In brief, hard-hitting statements they call out Britain’s complicity in the war on Gaza.

This is good and I applaud the involvement of all the legal and cultural workers concerned.
But it would be good of we left off the final two words ‘to Israel’ and demanded a total shutdown of arms production.
This £trillions industry is not there to provide for the needs or wellbeing of a single human being – except the greed perhaps of the shareholding vultures.
Am glad to read that this campaign against arms trade, export and/or donation is happening, though CAAT have worked hard for many years, taking government to court to stop huge arms sales to Saudi, but to no avail. Sales and exports that contravene their own mandates.
How great can we make this?
“Complicity” is an.inadequate concept for the British state’s long history of oppression of the peoples of Palestine and the Middle East – imperialism colonialism and genocide maybe better.
