Britain’s role in the hell witnessed by a UK doctor in Gaza

JVL Introduction

This moving article by a retired surgeon who spent time in Gaza describes in some detail what he witnessed.  It is hard to imagine living and working under the conditions he describes and the trauma that each survivor of the bombs and snipers’ bullets experience.

He returned in September and “was left with an overwhelming sense of guilt that I could go back to an easy life while millions of others went to bed hungry, wondering if they would be blown to pieces overnight. This has been replaced by a deep sense of shame and embarrassment that the UK government, a Labour  government that I campaigned for, has refused to actively condemn Israel for the war crimes it has committed and continues to supply it with arms”

This is also, of coure, a government clamping down on those of us protesting the genocide.

As a surgeon in Gaza, I witnessed hell visited on children. It shames me that Britain played a part in it

I saw them killed by sniper fire and drones. Why doesn’t Labour condemn it? Why do arms keep flowing in Israel’s direction?

  • The time has come when words alone cannot give vent to the anger felt that once again, and again, we see the utter low level that we humans can sink.
The future generations will lump us all together and in judgment will find us all Guilty !!. That of course depends on us not continuing on the road we are now on, which in all likelihood will mean the end, Full Stop.
