Hot air from government but still no arms embargo!

The government of the UK is full of fine words such as “condemnation”, “intolerable” and “crossed a red line” (this last in relation to the sanctions on two individual Idraeli Ministers).Yet they must know that this is meaningless while continuing to send arms to Israel, continuing to trade with Israel – even if they have suspended talks about future trade deals.
An arms embargo is the minimum action. Past Prime Ministers, including Margaret Thatcher, have restricted and even stopped arms sales to Israel while they were carrying out acts of aggression, but this government seems intent on supporting the genocide and the apartheid state even while using stronger language than before.

The UK may have paused trade talks with Israel, but arms exports are still the elephant in the room
If the UK has any spine on Gaza, it must at least use its political leverage and impose a total arms embargo on Israel.

I never hear sincerity from Lammy. He used to appear to be a decent Socialist but since being given the Foreign Secretary post, he’s morphed into a Rightwinger. He appears tense when being interviewed by a Journalist and not sincere in his answers, as if he doesn’t believe in what he’s saying.
Now he’s talking about the vicious treatment by the West Bank Settlers against the Palestinians as disgraceful and against international law and demanding that it stops.
Are these just words to please those condemning Starmer and his Pro Israeli policies and they’ll actually do nothing to stop the Israeli atrocities?
I will be shocked if they take serious actions against Israel, which is what any serious Government should be doing!!
The UK isn’t “serious about taking action to prevent genocide”. Its political / military / economic elite and its toe-rags in Parliament, and elsewhere, are active participants in the mass extermination and displacement of Palestinians in Gazza and the West Bank. How do you appeal to a moral conscience where there is none?
