Audiences at the Toronto Film Festival have seen an “urgent and incendiary documentary”, The Bibi Files, which uses leaked videos and interviews with high level insiders to reveal “ the long-running pattern of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu serving his own interests while clinging to power – from deliberate ploys to sabotage an alliance between the West Bank and Gaza by enabling Hamas, to his alliance with the violent far right and attempted overhaul of the supreme court to save himself from prosecution.”
The film makers brought the film to Toronto as a work-in-progress because, with the death toll in Gaza still rising, they wanted to get it released and distributed urgently.
It should be seen, and widely. But let’s not fall for the idea that the genocide Palestinians are undergoing is the responsibility of one corrupt individual. The buck stops with the Israeli state and its backers in Washington and other global centres.

‘I’ve never seen the depth of moral corruption’: controversial Netanyahu doc screens at Toronto
Despite a legal attempt to stop it, documentary The Bibi Files, which shows leaked interrogation footage of the Israeli prime minister, made its debut at the festival.

Netanyhu relies on scare tactics to silence his critics … and unsurprisingly his government does the same on the world stage.
The “Middle East Eye” and the Axios com sites both report the same story of Israel using the US Congress to bully South Africa into dropping the ICJ genocide case against Israel. These quotes are from Axios :-
“Israel is lobbying members of Congress to press South Africa to drop its legal proceedings in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the war in Gaza, according to an Israeli foreign ministry cable obtained by Axios.
Why it matters: South Africa has until Oct. 28 to give the top UN court its arguments for continuing the case against Israel over alleged violations of the Genocide Convention during the war in Gaza.
Israeli officials say they want members of Congress to make clear to South Africa that there will be consequences for continuing to pursue the case. Israel hopes the new coalition government in South Africa will take a different approach to Israel and the war in Gaza, the officials said.”
So one colonial state (Israel) seeks to use its superpower “friend” – a state that denied many black Americans their civil rights as late as the 1970s – to intimidate a mainly black nation (South Africa) which only rid itself of oppressive Apartheid rule by white colonialists sometime in the 1980s … It’s applying that pressure to resist being prosecuted for genocide, the worst of all crimes.
