Many in a divided Israel express their contempt for Netanyahu

The Israel Prize is the country’s most prestigious award.

But one of the awards was due to be given to an outspoken opponent of Prime Minister Netanyahu, so this year they have been cancelled!

Awards are normally made for excellence in the fields of psychology, economics, Torah literature and Jewish law, life sciences, physics, math and computer science, entrepreneurship and technological innovation, media, and sports.

But no longer if they are to go to critics of the Prime Minister!

Instead Education Minister Yoav Kisch has created two new categories: “mutual responsibility” and “civic heroism”…

This decision, says Haaretz is “like an X-ray of the metastasizing disease that has afflicted the country”, a window into the reality of “Netanyahu and his criminal gang”.
