Starmer – Sanctions are necessary and now!

JVL Introduction

This article by the Deputy Director of UK’s Palestine Solidarity Campaign highlights the need for sanctions to stop the genocide.  Starmer’s half decision to recognise Palestine is something he has been pressured into by MPs in his own Party but much more by the mood in the country and that the support for Palestinians is growing. However, it will not end Israel’s genocide or occupation or starvation.  Starmer has nonetheless drawn the fury of Israel’s leaders and, of course, disdain from Trump so, given how “appalled” he is by what he is (now) seeing, he should really just take the action that is needed, actually sanction Israel and continue to draw wrath but actually make a difference to the Palestinian people?  The genocide must end and 77 years of injustice must end as well.
