800 UK lawyers call to PM or sanctions on Israel
JVL Introduction
800 UK lawyers, including, for example, 70 KCs, have written a powerful letter to the Prime Minister outlining action that needs to be taken against Israel, especially sanctions. This letter omits the call for an arms embargo since the outcome of a legal case on this is awaited. It welcomes, for example, the statement by Starmer working with the Canadian and French governments, ut makes it clear that action is now desperately needed.
They note that The UK foreign secretary, David Lammy, announced the suspension of negotiations for a new free trade deal between the UK and Israel but their ” two-page letter, backed by a 35-page legal memorandum, says he must go further, faster by reviewing existing trade ties, suspending the 2030 roadmap for closer UK-Israel partnership and imposing trade sanctions.” (My emph and link Ed)
The letter also call on the PM to sanction Israeli ministers and others for inciting genocide or sponsoring settlements. The sanctions in place on individual, extremist settlers, do not go far enough.
We must hope that, as a former human rights lawyer, this is a letter Starmer cannot ignore.]

You should be ashamed. Israel would never ever commit “genocide“. You side with blatant antisemites and Islamists who would murder you as well as every Israeli. You are akin to the Jews who cooperated with Hitler.
I’d be interested to learn just how Ian would describe Israel’s actions in the former State of Palestine, currently in particular, but as well as over the last 70+ years in general.
