Prosecuted for BDS supermarket action

JVL Introduction

The Crown Prosecution Service has dropped the ludicrous charges against Hastings nurse Chris Dindar but not before an early morning raid by police, terrifying his young daughter and nearly a year of stress.  His “crime”: displacing some Israeli produced hummus that was then “unfit for consumption as a result, causing a financial loss to the business.”

This is a waste of police resources but it seems that nothing is too much if it puts pressure on those seeking justice and peace for Palestinians.  If it was not so serious it would be comical but this has little to do with moving packets of Israeli hummus; it is political.  It is also positive that Chris will continue to fight and also that the the charges were dropped and not long after the court acquitted the Hastings Three.

There are many other cases pending, some of which are referred to within the article: many under draconian interpretation of draconian anti Terrorism legislation.

  • Wow! Back in the day I went round Hastings Sainsburys putting “Free Nelson Mandela” stickers on tins of South African fruit. I am now in fear of a 4am knock from the Man from Del Monte.

  • “We responded to a report of criminal damage after a significant amount of humous was removed from shelves at Sainsbury’s in St Leonards” [Sussex Police]. If it wasn’t used as a pretext to suppress Pro-Palestinian action, it would be laughable. Sussex Police must have a direct line to the Home Office and Number 10. It’s a process clearly directed from the top in order to harass, intimidate and silence us. Given the news of more shootings by the IOF in the West Bank tonight, and Trump’s insistence he is going to let “all hell break loose” in Gaza, I`m sure we have the lives of the Palestinians, more on our minds, and the next march in London on 15th February.
