Boycotting Israel has gone mainstream
JVL Introduction
The mood has changed radically. From being a fringe campaign, BDS is now mainstream.
From being widely demonised as antisemitic (the Israeli government and its supporters still try that one, but to lesser and lesser effect) it is now widely recognised for what it is: a non-violent strategy to exert pressure for change on a non-responsive, apartheid, now genocidal, regime.

Thankyou for this very informative article. The boycotting is never updated as the BBC appears firmly protective of Zionism & Israel.
Despite some very good journalists BBC news casters seem unwilling to give us Aljazeera coverage of truth!
Thankyou Have missed receiving your emails, which ARE informative & balanced .
BDS will only be successful if the information is out there to educate a mass of the population.
Since we cannot rely on the “establishment media” to do this, then we must step up the information war using our own resources … JVL, PSC, Left-facing parties, trade unions, social media and alternative media, etc.
We did not defeat South African apartheid by relying on the BBC !
Now is not the moment to relax our campaigning.
Agreed, John.
The approach I’m trying is to provide an amateur “information service” for personal contacts. It’s based on news and analysis from Google-listed REPUTABLE mainstream and topic-expert media. Quite often that nails the misrepresentation of factual information put out by UK media. For example, the outright lies about Hamas beheading 40 babies were very quickly identified by the Israeli press … did the UK media EVER admit they’d misinformed us?
There are a number of small independent groups all trying to ensure they pass on accurate information about Israel’s “war” on Gaza and the West Bank. What we’re lacking is an effective “umbrella group” to help all the groups coordinate their efforts for maximum impact. Any suggestions please on which organisations would be worth approaching about their willingness to act as co-ordinators?
If the judicial review de-proscribes Palestine Action we might ask them to include that job within their remit :-)). We could then at least count on the UK intelligence services reading some of our output!!! From which they and their political masters might learn …
