Israeli authorities are turning a blind eye while right-wing mobs attack and destroy food aid so desperately needed in Gaza.
It is not the first time this had happened, and it won’t be the last.
This is despite the the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordering Israel to enable the unhindered flow of aid into Gaza in order to avert a famine. In a unanimous decision at the end of March, the Court said Israel had to act “without delay” to allow the “provision… of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance”.
The Court and world opinion are being treated with contempt. While Israeli apologists say with a straight face that the country is doing its utmost to ensure that aid gets through this latest incident shows that such assurances, yet again, are nothing but barefaced lies.
As Amos Goldberg pointed out in a recently posted article, it is incidents like this that contribute to creating “an overall picture of genocide, of intentional and conscious crushing of the Palestinian existence in Gaza”.

Two Trucks With Humanitarian Aid Bound for Gaza Set on Fire in the West Bank
Right-wing activists were documented throwing food from the aid trucks on the ground, and two of the trucks were later burned down. Israeli police and the IDF blame each other for the lack of enforcement, but a senior security official says the rioters received ‘inside information’

Thanks to the incredibly brave souls trying to stop the blockages of this aid by showing EVERYONE (within and outside Israel) what was being done – and by whom. Their actions will encourage at least some other Israelis to follow their examples. They also encourage Israelis to THINK about why fellow citizens oppose the starving of the Palestinians.
However, the Israeli government and Israel have so long enjoyed impunity for their misdeeds against the Palestinians and international law that they’re only likely to be deterred by some combination of defeats by Hamas and Hezbollah; legal, economic and arms sanctions by Israel’s main allies; and ICC arrest warrants against ministers and senior officers in the IDF.
All these events are underway … but how many Palestinians will survive long enough to benefit? And if the Netanyahu government or its successors continue on their present path then – when Israel pays the ultimate bills for past misdeeds – will there still BE a political and economic future for Israel in a world where the USA no longer protects it and it’s an impoverished, globally loathed pariah state?
Do David Baddiell and Rachel Riley still have social media accounts? They are not victims of cancel culture, they should come out on their many platforms and say why they support genocide and let the public decide
The heading ” Israeli authorities turn a blind eye” to the destruction of Aid is rather ingenious. The Israeli authorities have done everything inc bombing Aid Trucks to stop Aid getting into Gaza..
I read the shocking account by Israeli human rights activist Sapir Sluzker Amran on AlJazeera. She observed that the Israeli police at the scene protected the Israeli activists who were destroying the food parcels intended for the starving people in Gaza. Israeli police allowed the aid destruction. Sapir Sluzker Amran said that she was attacked by the Israelis destroying aid because she was observing what was going on. Israeli herself but the police did nothing to protect her. Sapir Sluzker Amran also extrapolated that the Israeli police or security services had provided open information about when and where the aid trucks would be arriving.
I did not think that human beings could sink that low. I am utterly shocked at the depravity put to show by the Israel state and its government towards the Palestinian people.
I am disappointed with the behaviour by people like Biden, on der Leyen, the German government , Sunak and Starmer & co. They all got blood on their hands.
Apart from it being inhumane to stop the aid trucks delivering aid to hungry and thirsty civilians, do those who wish to stop the aid even think about the fact that that same aid if it gets into Gaza will also keep the Israeli hostages alive,does this fact not even cross their minds? I suppose not.
Please stop using the term ‘right wing activists’ to describe these folks, as if they are just a few bad apples. Couldn’t happen without the complicit support of Zio-Israelis in general and the silence of Western politicians who constantly excuse / ignore them. They have bastardised my religion and embarrassed the memory of family members who perished in Auschwitz
