Grievances about racism – hypocrisy and hierarchy
JVL Introduction
Gavin Lewis outlines the hypocrisy inherent in the treatment of Diane Abbot in relation to one poorly worded letter. He notes that the media, as so often, failed to explain the context for her letter and asks us to note that there has been more coverage of the letter and its aftermath than of the actual murder of Chris Kaba just a few weeks before.
Lewis looks not only at the hierarchy of racism today but also how much is missing from the broad understanding of history and he reiterates the point made by Jackie Walker that Holocaust Memorial Day looks only at genocides from the Nazi era on, thus ignoring the millions murdered through colonisation, not least by the British.
Antisemitism is obviously real and important but why is it seen as the most serious form of racism? It is unfair, not good enough and does nothing to help end racism or any form of discrimination based on someone’s race or ethnic origin.

SUBVERTING THE GRIEVANCES OF ANTI-RACISM AND THE ATTACK ON DIANE ABBOTT MP

An excellent article – it’s refreshing to read someone taking this head on for what it is but at the same time it’s depressing to realise how far away we are from putting it right.
This is a brilliant article which should be required reading for all those who consider themselves anti-racist. It puts the false ‘antisemitism’ campaign in its true perspective namely as a campaign whose sole purpose was to negate the racism experienced by Palestinians and Black people.
Gavin is absolutely correct. I document in my own book Zionism During the Holocaust how the original model for the Nazi holocaust were laid in South-West Africa and the extermination camp of Snake Island. Eugene Fischer later went on to be the Director of the Kaiser Institute of Racial Anthropology and a member of the Nazi Party.
He also trained the SS doctors including Joseph Mengele, the Angel of Death. The extermination of the Jews, Gypsies and Disabled owed its origins to German imperialism in Africa before WW1.
The article is spot on and refreshing. I was born and brought up in an African Reservation created by a British Colonial Administration. Africans and Europeans lived in separate areas, had separate hospitals, schools, churches, pubs and restaurants. From my experience and as far as I am aware Jews were classified as Europeans. I remember my father explain to me who the Europeans were. It would be useful to know, in this case, if there were racist social and economic discriminatory segregations against Jews within the European group.
This article is no less than a reference piece which points the reader to many of the largely ignored atrocities/holocausts committed by whites. It’s a pity that the atrocities committed against Palestinians by Israel are clouded behind another white atrocity in which Palestinians played no part!
Thank you for restoring some much needed context. The likes of Mervis grossly misrepresent the people they would have us believe they are defending. IMO he is selling fake woke for the anti woke. If any of his heroic fan boys had been in Germany in the 1930s…. no prizes, just saying.
thanks for the above…most enlightening but depressing.
As comments above rightly say, this article is ‘refreshing’, ‘depressing’, ‘correct’, ‘spot on’, ‘enlightening’, ‘a reference piece’. As a pessimist/realist, however, it seems to me to be further confirmation that you are wasting your time. Shouting in the dark against perpetual regurgitation of patently ludicrous accusations of antisemitism against Jeremy Corbyn, Ken Loach, Diane Abbott, Tony Greenstein, Jackie Walker, Chris Williamson – (compile your own list of fifty) – just seems fruitless – unfortunately.
Most people basically believe what they want to believe, under the influence of the all-conquering establishment media of course.
