Restore the whip to Diane Abbott and Jeremy Corbyn; Let members decide

Labour Black Socialists (LBS), The Voice Newspaper, JVL and many others have called has called for the Whip to be restored to the UK’s longest serving black MP.  This piece quotes Peter Herbert, Chair of the Society of Black Lawyers :  “Keir Starmer’s repeated public pronouncements on Diane’s letter undermine the impartiality of any investigation and on the need for natural justice to be applied in the interests of fairness.” and also notes Martin Forde’s concerns that the Labour leadership has not done fully engaged with his findings of ongoing anti-Black racism within Labour or addressed the hierarchy of racism.

Labour Outlook has published this piece  on the support from his own Constituency Party and beyond for the whip to be reinstated to Jeremy Corbyn.  For Jeremy and Diane, as for far too many others, this injustice is also an attack on democracy in the Labour Party.
