JVL Introduction
An important appeal from leading trade unions in occuped Palestine to the global trade union movement.
It urges all trade unions, trade union federations, and professional syndicates worldwide to contribute to the Palestinian-led Anti-Apartheid Movement by taking meaningful action in support of the rights of Palestinian workers and the Palestinian people at large to end the system of occupation, colonization and apartheid.

This is a positive development I think.
UK trade unions and trade unionists wanting to support their Palestinian counterparts will need reassurance that they’re not being antisemitic in doing so. They’ll worry over the IHRA definition and will probably be unaware of both the Jerusalem Definition and of legal / employment tribunal cases in which the IHRA definition has been misused to attack and silence innocent individuals.
If anyone has informal or formal contacts with trade unionists or trade unions (eg as members), perhaps they could ask them how to get more backing here in the UK for the Palestinian trade unionists? Weren’t the UK unions strong allies against apartheid South Africa?
