Some activists just keep on going: organising, thinking, acting, developing all their lives.

Such a one was Shatzi Weisberger who died last month on 1st December 2022. aged 92.

As Theo Rehm’s tribute to her makes clear, her life’s work spanned the movements for queer liberation and racial justice, against police brutality and prison violence, the women’s movement, and anti-nuclear activism.

It included, centrally, her move from Zionism to anti-Zionism: A Jewish dyke for a Free Palestine!

  • Wow, what a tale of determination and of knowing what is right and what is wrong and spending your every day left on Earth campaigning for the Palestinians. A remarkable lady, I wish I had known her and spent time discussing Zionism and the Apartheid State of Israel.
