With Gaza under permanent siege, employment opportunities there are very limited.
Thirsting for opportunities to earn a living, some Gazan workers are allowed permits to go to Israel as cheap labourers, on terms and conditions that only desperate people would accept.
Their working conditions are unsupervised, and they tend to work in industries with high risk of accidents, like construction.

If Labour get into government at the next GE, how long will it be before the tiny vestige of Socialism left in the Party shames some members into ‘outing’ Starmer and others as imposters, who are using the LP to continue promoting right wing policies? Somehow, I don’t think it will take too long, and I can foresee major disruptions in the Party when it happens. Those of us who have left/been expelled, will be looking on from the sidelines in sadness not glee at how a Party which almost became Socialist, was taken over and destroyed by the right wing, and it has to be said, by some on the left who failed to recognise and deal with the threat early enough.
