US/Israel war on Iran brings fresh hell for Gaza
JVL Introduction
Borders are closed and no Palestinians can leave Gaza – or the West Bank. The promised 50 people a day being allowed to leave Gaza for medical treatment has never been achieved and is now halted “because of the war”. Meanwhile starvation will return to Gaza and the aid agencies that provided the support needed are unable to operate as supplies and internationals are held back. More collective punishment in the name of security and more pressure on Palestinians to just give up.
This article outlines the desperate reality in Gaza after one day of this war and the writer makes this clear point about yet another failure of the international community:
“All of the organisations that Israel is seeking to ban are foreign. Most of them are based in Western countries. Yet there has been little to no condemnation from Western governments of Israel’s actions against their own organisations. There has been no outrage that the occupation is trying to destroy international humanitarian provision so it can fully control aid distribution.”

Under the shadow of the Iran war, Israel finds another way to punish Gaza
The curbing of NGO operations and the blocking of aid due to closure of the border crossings are meant as another collective punishment.

The Gazans don’t have to count on the Netherlands for one: the new minority cabinet has no intentions of even recognizing Palestine as a autonomous state. The new prime minister, Rob Jetten, together with 500,000 protesters, walked front row in the last Red Line in Amsterdam making a case for Palestine, telling he would make work of sanctions and military and economic boycots and recognition of the state of Palestine. Well, mooi niet, not so. He was confronted in parliament, and you can see he feels very uncomfortable, but his answer is beating around the bush:
